"Have you ever had a situation where you didn't know when and how much you were being
charged for a service...only to find out it was a lot more than you  had expected?  I make sure
you know when and how much you are being charged so you can make informed decisions about
your time with me."

                                          FAA Certified  Flight Instructor
Ground Instruction:
Ground instruction is when I am sitting down with you and either teaching you a subject, going
over a preflight brief, or a post-flight brief.  I will only charge ground for preflighting an aircraft
when I am actually teaching you how to preflight an airplane.  Once you know how to preflight
the plane I will not be charging you for that time.  So relax, take your time, and make a safe
preflight.

Flight Instruction:
Flight instruction is based on the Hobbs meter.  So if we are sitting in the plane without the
engine running you are not being charged. Once the engine is on you are being charged $35.00
per hour for flight instruction time.

Time with me is not the same as time in the aircraft:
What you are charged for my time does not include the expense for renting the aircraft.  If the
airplane costs $1
24.43 per hour to rent and the Hobbs meter says we flew for one hour you will
owe the aircraft owner $1
24.43 and you will owe me $35.00.  So in this scenario an hour of flight
time with me will really cost you a total of $1
59.43

Calling me when you have a Question:
I will never charge you for calling me with a question... in fact, I encourage you to call me.  If
you need information or are unsure about something please call me.  I love to talk about
aviation topics.

You will always get a receipt for what I charge you
I always provide my clients with a receipt so they know how much they were charged for
ground and how much they were charged for flight time.

I'll remind you when you are and are not being charged
Sometimes people feel rushed because they think they are being charged when in fact they are
not... I will always remind you when you are being charged and when you are not being
charged.  This allows you to get the most bang for your buck for time spent with me.

I prefer to be paid with a check
For bookkeeping and banking purposes I prefer to be paid with a check.  I can also accept cash if
you don't have a check.

I prefer to be paid at the end of each lesson
My preference for being paid at the end of each lesson makes a lot of sense for me and you.  If
payment is made after every lesson there is no need for either you or me to have to carry a
running total.  Often running totals can become ugly... the client and the flight instructor may
forget a charge which can lead to the client second guessing the honesty of the instructor.
